Nissan Motor Co. is recalling 1.05 million vehicles to a fix software issue that could deactivate the front passenger airbag.

What Did Nissan Know?

As early as February 2013, Nissan knew that the airbags could fail to deploy which is why an initial recall was announced. Approximately three accident reports involving failure of airbag deployment were acknowledged.

Nissan will begin notifying affected vehicle owners in mid-April and will repair the vehicle software free of charge.
