Police are investigating the death of a woman who was hit by a truck while riding a moped in Northwest D.C. Friday, Aug. 15.

Witnesses say that 36-year-old Nadia Sophie Seiler of Wheaton, MD. was riding along the 4900 block of Connecticut Avenue when a truck struck her violently. The crash took place at approximately 9 a.m.

Witnesses raced to get Seiler help at a nearby fire station. The EMTs attempted to revive her but Seiler died from her injuries.

One witness, Tim Welsh, described the EMTs efforts, saying, They were working on her immediately, noting that the rescue workers were attempting a combination of CPR and intravenous revival methods.

Witnesses believe the truck that hit Seiler may have been traveling the wrong direction down 36th Street as it crossed Connecticut Avenue and struck the moped.

At the time of the report, no charges had been filed against the driver of the truck, who has remained unidentified.
